Me: Claire, what do you want to do today?
Claire: I want to see Abbey, Callie, and Uchtdorf. (President Uchtdorf)
While swinging in the backyard she says "Mom, push me high please. I want an undercow" I guess she got tired of underdogs.
On our way to Tooele the other day Claire didn't get to listen to the song she wanted to hear. She doesn't understand yet that I have no control over what songs are played on the radio. This is what I hear from the back seat:
Claire: Poor Claire. She's got a hard life! (In a really sad voice)

Summertime!!!
Saturday we decided to head into Salt Lake and go to the Chalk Art Festival (benefits the Foster Care Foundation) at the Gateway Mall. It was our first year going and we were quite impressed with the artwork. The road that goes through the mall was closed off and that is where the artists drew their pictures. It was just kind of sad to think that the next day cars would be driving all over their hard work.
I am sure you can image how interested Claire was in seeing the chalk art so we decided to head somewhere that Claire would really like...Tracy Aviary.
She loved seeing all the birds and especially feeding the ducks.
My main reason for wanting to go there is because Claire had been asking to see a peacock all week long. Each night we can hear one that lives near our home but we haven't been able to find it. We even went searching for it for Family Home Evening but had no luck. Claire was pretty excited when we found the peacock at the Aviary. However, I think her favorite part of the entire day was the orange snowcone that she got right as we were leaving.
It was a great day!!

the truth comes out...
During the day Claire has frequently said "Daddy's at work, he is sleeping". I am not sure where that came from but today she told me what else she thinks her daddy does at work..."He goes swimming and he plays with his friends". So that is what electricians are really doing...

We are the owners of a brand new.....
Yep... thats right.
Apparently blocks that are about 2 inches by 5 inches get stuck in the toilet and won't come out from either end. (Although, my very inventive husband was able to eventually get it out. But by then we had already bought the new toilet)
Honestly, I don't know if I should be irritated or impressed.
Irritated.. because Claire threw a rather large block into the toilet. And this happened the day after we had a talk about putting things in the toilet that don't belong there - cups, washclothes, pajamas, bathtoys.
Impressed...because she was literally able to throw a block from several feet away into the toilet as I was putting the toilet seat down and it was being flushed. By the time I lifted the toilet seat back up, the block was long gone.
For a second she was really proud of herself for making the shot. And then I think she remembered the discussion from the day before and she walked herself into timeout. But really, how can I stay irritated about the sitation when I can hear her sitting in timeout singing "I am a Child of God".
The best part happened when Luke got home. Claire went to her room and got an identical block and attempted to put it in the toilet so she could show her daddy what she had done earlier in the day.
We really haven't had many terrible two moments lately but when they happen, they happen all at once. So now I am on to cleaning up the cereal from when she decided to jump on my bed singing "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" while holding a bowl of cereal. Apparently cereal doesn't stay in the bowl while jumping up and down. :P
